DN Procurement Agent Savings Calculator

Version 1.0 · Single-quote planning worksheet · 22 October 2026

Normalize one supplier quote to the quantity you must actually purchase, then compare the modeled landed purchase cost with a comparable baseline. The default is the authored P02-B example from DN’s eight-case procurement benchmark.

All default figures are fictional cost units (CU). This file works locally, sends no data, stores no inputs and makes no purchases. Its eligibility boxes are reader assertions, not supplier verification or permission enforcement.

Use a comparable baseline. It must cover the same required quantity, specification, delivery deadline, permitted payment terms and modeled purchase costs. This subtotal is not lifecycle total cost of ownership. Financing, maintenance, holding cost, quality losses, disposal and any unentered costs remain outside the arithmetic.
1. Required order and comparison baseline
2. Supplier quote and landed purchase costs
3. Incremental evaluation costs and owner-time valuation
4. Eligibility evidence — confirm each condition

Defaults are checked only for the fictional example. Unchecking any condition blocks savings. Delivery, payment and overbuy gates are also checked numerically.

Results update as you edit. Use ordinary non-negative decimal numbers with at most six decimal places; scientific notation is not accepted. Unknown required costs must be resolved before a complete result can be shown.

Conditional comparison for this order

Packs to buy
Item subtotal after discount and FXBefore the entered freight, tax and onboarding.
Landed purchase costAll purchased packs and entered charges.
Gross purchase savingComparable baseline less landed purchase cost.
Cash net saving
Net after owner-time valuation

These are conditional planning calculations, not realized savings. A negative result is a modeled increase in cost. An ineligible quote has no usable savings result. Holding an award does not mean assessment work incurred no cost.

Method and limits

  1. Packs = maximum of the required quantity rounded up to full packs and the minimum order in packs. Purchased units = packs × units per pack. No residual value is credited for excess inventory.
  2. Item subtotal = packs × price per pack × (1 − discount ÷ 100) × conversion input. Landed purchase cost adds total freight, nonrecoverable tax and one-off onboarding in CU.
  3. Require all evidence checks, lead time within deadline, payment period within authority and excess units within the permitted percentage. Missing costs block calculation; a zero charge must be entered explicitly.
  4. Gross purchase saving = comparable baseline − landed cost. Cash net saving = gross purchase saving − incremental workflow cash cost. Percentage = cash net saving ÷ baseline × 100.
  5. Owner-time valuation = review hours × owner-hour value, reported separately as noncash. Net after valuation = cash net saving − owner-time valuation. Avoid double-counting the same labor in cash costs.

Arithmetic uses exact integer fractions internally; visible monetary and percentage figures round half up to two decimal places. This single-quote worksheet does not search suppliers, generate offers, negotiate, authorize commitments or calculate lifecycle TCO. Compare multiple eligible quotes separately on the same basis. Retain the evidence supporting quantities, charges, rates and permissions.
