What Matters
The cheapest AI trading setup depends on the features you need, executed turnover and the fee schedule your account actually pays. In DN’s stated $10,000 monthly spot-turnover scenario, estimated costs run from $10 to $44.99 across nine entry routes. These are modeled costs, not measured execution results. Change the assumptions below before treating any ranking as relevant.
A free bot can generate a substantial trading bill. A paid platform can offer useful controls, yet its lowest plan may omit the AI feature that brought you to the website. Annual billing can reduce the monthly allocation while increasing the cash committed immediately. Each difference belongs in the same comparison.
This guide compares nine selected, publicly available platforms for ordinary, self-configured spot automation. They are not interchangeable AI products. The native grids largely automate configured rules with parameter assistance; some paid tools add AI strategy creation or an execution connection for an external model. This is a transparent cohort comparison, not proof that these are the nine cheapest products in the entire market.

DN Evidence Block
- Last verified: 1 November 2026. Prices are USD public list prices for the named plans and markets.
- Sample: five exchange-native spot routes and four software platforms. Default billing is monthly; annual commitments are shown separately where their full invoice amount is verified.
- Evidence: current official pricing, fee schedules, product documentation and public billing-page controls. The calculator’s arithmetic and interface are tested; no funded trading, fill-quality benchmark or vendor security audit is claimed.
- Measured versus assumed: software prices and stated fee schedules are documentary facts. Turnover, maker share, execution shortfall and credit usage are reader-adjustable assumptions.
- Research and methodology: Decentralised News. Eligibility, custody and plan capabilities remain separate from cost.
What each entry price actually buys
The baseline excludes marketplace copy trading, perpetuals, leverage, temporary promotions, VIP tiers and token-holding discounts. A “$0 subscription” row means the specified bot software has no separate recurring bill. It does not mean free trades, free withdrawals or no risk.

Regional exception: the OKX baseline is its published Standard Group schedule. EEA spot-only regular all-pairs rates are 0.10% maker / 0.20% taker; separate stablecoin schedules also exist. Enter the schedule shown for your account. The software rows use a common hypothetical venue fee to isolate the software layer, not a fee imposed by the software provider.
DN Trading Cost Calculator
Compare the costs entered below for the same trading activity. The starting figures are an illustrative scenario, not a recommendation or a forecast. No exchange connection or account details are required.
Count each executed side once. A $100 buy plus a $100 sell is $200 turnover. At the starting $1,000 capital and 10× multiple, monthly turnover is $10,000. Unfilled orders do not count.
The 5 bps starting allowance combines spread and slippage. It is an editable assumption, not measured platform execution quality. One basis point is 0.01%.

Subscription allocation includes the selected payment-processing fee. Annual allocation is not a month-to-month offer. Cash at start covers only the subscription invoice and entered setup cost, excluding trading charges, usage charges, other operating bills and taxes.
Cost as a percentage of capital describes this scenario’s cost burden, not a required return. A cost rank does not establish platform eligibility, safety, quality or profitability. Funding, borrowing, gas, taxes and unentered costs are excluded.
The starting comparison is shown above. Enable JavaScript to change assumptions or download a personalized comparison.
Read the result as a scenario, not a universal winner
The default assumes $1,000 of capital and $10,000 of total executed monthly turnover, all as taker fills. It adds a common 5-basis-point execution-shortfall allowance per executed side. One basis point is 0.01%. This is an illustrative allowance for spread and slippage relative to a consistent reference price; DN has not measured it at these venues.
Under those assumptions, Pionex’s entered 5-basis-point trading fee produces $5 in commissions and $5 in execution allowance, for a $10 modeled month. The other four native routes each produce $15 in the all-taker baseline. WunderTrading Free also produces $15 using the hypothetical connected-exchange fee. Bitsgap Basic and Cryptohopper Explorer produce $44; Coinrule Investor produces $44.99 when usage stays within the entered 1,000-credit allowance.
Those figures do not establish that the cheapest row delivers the best fills, strongest controls or most useful AI. A wider actual spread, a different regional commission schedule, a necessary plan upgrade or additional model usage can change the result. At $10,000 turnover, another 5 basis points of shortfall adds $5. At $100,000 it adds $50. A small rate difference becomes material as activity rises.
The maker-share setting also needs evidence. A limit order can cross the book and pay taker fees. Use the maker/taker classification and executed notional in the trade record, rather than assuming every limit order earns a maker rate. For an account audit, continue with DN’s guide to rebuilding net P&L from the trade log.
Three details that change the advertised price
1. An AI feature can require a different plan
The table’s cheapest scoped route is not a promise that every AI function is included. Switch Cryptohopper from Explorer to Hero in the calculator and the monthly software base rises from $29 to $129. Switch WunderTrading from Free to Pro for live external-AI execution and the software base becomes $49. A separately supplied model or data service may add another bill. Enter it under that platform’s other monthly costs.
Bitsgap Basic’s AI assistance and Coinrule’s strategy parsing describe different workflows. Native grid parameter suggestions are narrower again. Choose the capability you actually need before comparing prices. Neither a platform’s AI label nor a more expensive subscription is evidence of better net returns.
2. Metered usage can exceed the subscription
Coinrule Cloud Investor includes 1,000 monthly credits. With no prepaid balance, 1,200 credits in a month adds $4; 5,000 adds $80. Those are arithmetic examples, not predictions of how many credits a strategy will consume. The calculator asks for aggregate usage explicitly instead of estimating it from trade count. Paid agents continue into overage at $0.02 per credit, with excess usage invoiced through Stripe.
The monthly allowance resets without rollover. Prepaid packs are a separate purchase and do not expire; the example assumes no existing prepaid credit balance. Counting a prepaid purchase and the same consumed credits as fresh metered cash expense would double count the bill.
3. The subscription payment itself can incur a fee
Cryptohopper’s official schedule lists balance payments with no processing fee, PayPal at 4.25%, and Apple Pay, Google Pay or Paddle at 5% plus $0.50. The default comparison uses the documented balance-payment case. Select the relevant method to change it. A $29 monthly subscription paid through a 5% plus $0.50 method becomes $30.95 before any applicable VAT.
That processing fee is separate from exchange commissions. Funding a platform balance can also have a cost; none is assumed in the default. If a method charges per billing event, an annual payment incurs the fixed part once on that annual invoice, rather than twelve times.
Annual billing: lower allocation, larger commitment
Bitsgap’s documented $276 annual Basic bill allocates to $23 a month. Coinrule Investor’s documented $265.99 annual bill allocates to about $22.17. These are annual commitments, not offers to pay those amounts month by month. The tool shows both the monthly allocation and the subscription bill due at the start.
Cryptohopper displays an annual monthly equivalent, but this review did not verify its full current payable annual invoice. The same limit applies to WunderTrading Pro’s annual invoice. The calculator therefore leaves those annual rows unranked until you enter a quote. Multiplying a rounded monthly label by twelve can create a total that differs from the actual invoice. A blank quote is not treated as zero.
Compare renewal terms, cancellation rules, refundable amounts and account-specific taxes before committing. A cheaper annual allocation may be poor value if you stop using the platform early or discover that your required feature sits in another tier. This review uses public prices; it does not claim to have completed a purchase or verified a personal checkout.
The nine platforms, with their limits
“Best for” below is DN’s editorial interpretation of the documented workflow. It is not a safety score or a return forecast. Each included product is publicly available at the verification date, subject to its account, jurisdiction and product restrictions.
1. Pionex
Built-in bots for ordinary, unleveraged spot trading · LIVE; product and region restrictions
Pionex's built-in bots have no separate subscription or activation charge. For ordinary spot trades, its published maker and taker fees are both 0.05%. This profile excludes leveraged tokens, futures, copied strategies and premium Pionex.AI agents, whose costs must not be inferred from the native bot's zero software charge. [1][2]
The low software entry cost suits users who want preset automation inside one exchange account. Pionex.AI's free core assistance is separate from premium Coder and Quant agents. Bot assets sit with the venue, and restricted jurisdictions and exact product eligibility must be checked; this profile does not describe Pionex.US. [25][26][27]
- Best for
- Eligible users who want native spot automation without separate bot subscription billing.
- Avoid this route if
- You need self-custody or want premium Coder/Quant agents included in this price.
- Custody and access
- Venue custody through the Pionex exchange account.

2. Binance.com
Spot Grid; regular spot commission before discounts or promotions · LIVE; product and region restrictions
Binance.com Spot Grid adds no bot subscription charge; executed orders still pay the account's spot commission. The regular baseline used here is 0.10% maker and 0.10% taker, excluding BNB discounts, special pair schedules and promotions. These figures do not describe Binance.US. [3][4]
Its AI-labelled setup suggests grid parameters from price data and technical indicators, then follows configured trading rules. That narrow workflow suits eligible existing Binance.com users who already want a spot grid. Bot funds remain within the exchange account; local entity and product restrictions still apply, and the AI label does not establish an autonomous language-model agent. [28][29][30]
- Best for
- Eligible existing Binance.com users who want a native spot grid.
- Avoid this route if
- Your account belongs to Binance.US or another entity with different fees or bot access.
- Custody and access
- Venue custody; Spot Grid operates within the Binance.com account.

Referral reference: CPA_00SXKU7IO9. Use the linked entry route; this is not a promised fee discount.
3. OKX
Spot Grid; published Standard Group spot-fee baseline · LIVE; product and region restrictions
An OKX regional bot FAQ says bots are free to create and use, while trades incur normal fees. This model uses published Standard Group spot rates: 0.08% maker and 0.10% taker. EEA spot-only accounts instead have regular all-pairs rates of 0.10% maker and 0.20% taker, effective 25 September 2026; stablecoin categories have separate rates. [5][6][7]
Spot Grid can suggest parameters from historical data and backtesting, then executes the configured grid. This is useful for eligible account holders comparing native automation, but the applicable entity's fee table must override this baseline. Bot balances remain allocated within the exchange account, and residence alone does not establish access to every product. [31][5][32]
- Best for
- Eligible account holders comparing native spot automation under their own entity's fee schedule.
- Avoid this route if
- You would apply Standard Group fees to EEA spot-only accounts or another regional schedule.
- Custody and access
- Venue custody; bot balances are allocated within the OKX account.

Referral reference: 2136301. Use the linked entry route; this is not a promised fee discount.
4. Bybit
Spot Grid; non-VIP crypto-to-crypto spot baseline · LIVE; product and region restrictions
Bybit Spot Grid charges no extra bot creation or subscription fee; filled orders incur spot transaction fees. The non-VIP crypto-to-crypto baseline is 0.10% maker and 0.10% taker. Fiat-crypto markets use a different schedule, and regional account rates can differ, so this row is not a universal Bybit quote. [8][9][10]
The AI Strategy option recommends parameters using a pair's historical performance. The bot then follows grid settings, with funds moved from the Funding Account into the bot. It suits eligible existing users who want that workflow; identity verification and jurisdiction restrictions apply, and high grid turnover can accumulate transaction costs. [33][8][34]
- Best for
- Eligible existing Bybit users who want a native crypto-to-crypto spot grid.
- Avoid this route if
- You need fiat-crypto pricing or your region/account uses a different product or fee schedule.
- Custody and access
- Venue custody; funds move from the Funding Account into the Spot Grid bot.

Referral reference: 46164. Use the linked entry route; this is not a promised fee discount.
5. Bitget
Self-configured Spot Grid; standard spot fees before BGB or VIP discounts · LIVE; product and region restrictions
Bitget's fee FAQ states that self-configured Spot Grid has no separate subscription fee. The ordinary spot baseline is 0.10% maker and 0.10% taker, excluding BGB and VIP discounts. Copy-trading profit shares are outside this comparison, so the zero-subscription figure must not be extended to copied or elite products. [11]
AI Spot Grid provides parameter suggestions based on market conditions; execution follows the configured price intervals. This is an option for eligible Bitget users seeking native spot automation. Assets remain in the exchange account, and current prohibited-jurisdiction rules and exact product access must be checked. [35][36][37]
- Best for
- Eligible Bitget users who want self-configured native spot-grid automation.
- Avoid this route if
- You want copied or elite strategies whose profit-sharing costs differ from this scope.
- Custody and access
- Venue custody through the Bitget exchange account.

6. WunderTrading
Free — ordinary spot automation · LIVE; product and region restrictions
WunderTrading's Free plan provides one Signal bot, one DCA bot and one Grid bot without a subscription charge. That makes it the default for this limited spot-automation scenario. It executes through a connected exchange account, so the zero subscription price does not remove exchange trading costs. [12][13]
Keep ordinary automation separate from external AI execution. WunderTrading's AI page places live MCP/API execution on Pro, currently $49 month to month. The user supplies the AI agent and its inputs; model and data charges therefore need their own budget. Free bot access is not evidence that a learning model chooses its trades. [13][12]
- Best for
- A small set of self-configured spot bots that fits the Free limits.
- Avoid this route if
- You need included live external-AI execution at the Free price.
- Custody and access
- Execution uses a connected exchange account through API credentials.
7. Bitsgap
Basic — spot bots with AI-assisted setup · LIVE; product and region restrictions
Bitsgap Basic costs $29 month to month, or $276 for annual billing, equivalent to $23 a month. It includes three GRID bots, ten DCA bots and AI assistance. AI Chat suggests configurations and prepares the launch for the user to confirm; this describes assistance with setup, not verified trading performance. [14][15][16]
Bitsgap says it adds no trading commission, while exchange charges still need budgeting. Funds remain on the exchange. Free includes demo bots and a limited EVEDEX COMBO offer, which is outside this ordinary spot-bot comparison. Basic's bot counts and 30-day backtest depth can require an upgrade; Pro adds AI portfolio controls. [38][14][16]
- Best for
- Users who want integrated AI assistance for a few GRID or DCA bots.
- Avoid this route if
- You require Pro portfolio controls or more than Basic's bot limits.
- Custody and access
- Funds remain at the connected exchange; Bitsgap uses API keys without withdrawal rights.
8. Cryptohopper
Explorer — regular self-configured automation · LIVE; product and region restrictions
Cryptohopper Explorer costs $29 month to month for regular automated trading, with one live bot and one paper bot per subscription. Its specifically labelled AI strategies and AI Strategy Designer require Hero at $129 monthly. Those AI tools select among supplied strategies, signalers or alerts according to market conditions. [17][18][19]
Pioneer ended on 18 June 2026; funds stay on the exchange. Separate marketplace Copy Bot subscriptions are excluded from this self-configured comparison. The annual upfront bill remains unverified, so no total is quoted. Exchange fees, applicable VAT and subscription payment-processing fees must be added; the processing charge varies by payment method. [39][17][24]
- Best for
- Users needing one regular live bot with indicator strategies and backtesting.
- Avoid this route if
- You expect the $29 Explorer price to include Hero's AI functions or multiple regular live bots.
- Custody and access
- Funds remain on the connected exchange; the subscription supplies automation.
9. Coinrule Cloud
Investor — 1,000 monthly credits included · LIVE; product and region restrictions
Coinrule Cloud Investor costs $29.99 monthly or $265.99 billed once yearly, approximately $22.17 a month. It includes three agents, one exchange and 1,000 monthly credits. AI translates strategy descriptions into executable code. Free access permits preparation, but paper or live launches require paid access or an eligible active trial. [20][21]
On paid plans, agents continue after the allowance is exhausted and excess usage costs $0.02 per credit. Monthly credits reset without rollover; optional prepaid credits do not expire. Exchange charges and applicable taxes remain separate. Funds stay on the exchange. Coinrule says its services are not directed at EU/EEA residents; check eligibility before comparing costs. [22][23][40][41]
- Best for
- Users wanting natural-language strategy preparation who can monitor credit usage.
- Avoid this route if
- You require a guaranteed fixed bill regardless of usage, or eligibility conflicts with the EU/EEA restriction.
- Custody and access
- Funds remain at connected exchanges; Coinrule is an automation service.

DN Alpha Thesis: price the required workflow first
The headline subscription is only the starting point. A meaningful cost comparison begins with an eligible account, the exact automation capability, the necessary plan and the intended market. Only then do a monthly price and trading-fee rate become comparable.
Native exchange bots remove a separate software invoice and an additional API connection to a bot vendor. They also concentrate the workflow at one venue. External software can provide different configuration tools, interfaces or execution connections, but its value has to be assessed alongside the extra subscription and access arrangement. The calculator prices entered costs; it does not assign a dollar value to stronger controls or time saved.
DN’s conclusion is therefore conditional: select the lowest-cost eligible route that actually supplies the required capability, then verify its operational controls. Buying a cheap plan that lacks the required AI feature is a comparison error. Choosing a higher-priced plan without using the extra capability can be a budget error. Neither conclusion requires predicting market returns.
Use the comparison in this order
- Confirm access and scope. Check residence, KYC, account entity, the exact spot pair and bot availability. Remove unavailable platforms from your personal comparison; do not work around a restriction.
- Choose the real plan. Confirm whether you need ordinary rules, AI-assisted configuration, AI strategy tools or external-agent execution. Check bot, exchange and usage limits.
- Replace the assumptions. Enter your expected executed turnover, documented fee tier, maker share and a conservative execution-cost estimate. Use recorded fills when available.
- Read both cost and cash commitment. Check the monthly allocation, full subscription bill, taxes, processing method and metered usage. Add external model, data or hosting bills under other costs.
- Keep operational readiness separate. Use DN’s ten paper-to-live safety checks before considering real-money execution. A low cost or completed calculator does not authorize a trade.
Methodology and reproducible calculations
This is version 1.0 of the DN Trading Cost Comparison Dataset, verified on 1 November 2026. The sample was selected to compare familiar native spot bots with software that connects to an exchange. It is not an exhaustive market census, a backtest or a performance league table. Products with materially different tasks are identified rather than assigned an invented equivalent AI score.
For each row, the dataset records the plan, billing period, source URLs, price, fee basis and capability boundary. Native rows use the stated public spot schedules. The four software rows use a shared, editable 10-basis-point maker/taker venue assumption to isolate their software cost. It is not a claim that every supported exchange or customer has that rate.
Executed turnover = capital × monthly one-way turnover multiple.
Weighted fee rate = maker share × maker rate + taker share × taker rate.
Monthly scenario cost = monthly subscription allocation including entered processing + metered usage + other entered costs + turnover × (weighted fee bps + execution-shortfall bps) ÷ 10,000.
Turnover counts every executed leg once. Buying $100 and later selling $100 contributes $200. At a 10-basis-point commission and a 5-basis-point shortfall allowance, that example costs $0.20 plus $0.10, or $0.30 before fixed charges. There is no additional round-trip multiplier. Unfilled cancellations and rejected orders do not count as executed notional.
The spread/slippage field is a combined allowance against a consistent reference price. It should not be added again if your execution-quality measure already includes the same effect. Fees remain a separate line. Maker share is weighted by executed notional, not the number of submitted orders. Realized execution cost can vary with order size, pair, volatility, timing and order policy.
Annual subscription allocation uses the full verified or user-entered bill divided by twelve. Payment processing applies once per billing event. Coinrule overage is the excess of entered monthly credits above 1,000, multiplied by $0.02, with no prepaid balance assumed. The tool accepts platform-specific fee and shortfall overrides and additional monthly costs. Unknown required values remain unavailable and unranked; explicit zero is preserved.
Important limits: defaults do not include funding, borrowing, leverage, withdrawal or transfer costs, taxes, paid signals, model tokens, data, hosting, opportunity cost or labour. Enter relevant recurring bills under other costs; account separately for one-off charges and their payment timing. Stablecoin values must be converted to a consistent USD basis; this model does not guarantee a peg or perform foreign-exchange conversion. Negative maker rebates are outside the current nonnegative fee model. No return, risk or minimum-capital recommendation is generated.
The visible price table and initial calculation are included in the page HTML. Interactive exports record the reader’s scenario and results. Values are kept at full precision during calculation, rounded for display, and equal displayed-cent totals share a rank. This is an ordering of complete scenario estimates; missing quotes never become a healthy zero.

Frequently asked questions
Which is the cheapest AI trading platform in this comparison?
Under the stated monthly baseline, Pionex’s scoped native spot-bot route has the lowest modeled entered cost at $10. That result assumes $10,000 executed turnover, its stated 0.05% fee and a hypothetical 5-basis-point execution allowance. It excludes premium AI products and is not proof of the lowest measured real-world execution cost.
Are free trading bots really free?
The specified bot can have no separate software subscription while every filled order still incurs exchange fees and execution costs. A free plan can also restrict bot count, markets or AI capabilities. Check the exact product instead of extending a free label to an entire platform.
Does a cheap bot subscription include AI trading?
Not necessarily. Cryptohopper Explorer supplies ordinary automation, while its named AI strategy tools require Hero. WunderTrading Free supplies limited rule-based bots, while live external-AI execution starts on Pro. Native AI grid suggestions also differ from an autonomous language-model workflow.
How should I enter turnover?
Add the notional value of every executed buy and sell over the month, then divide that total by your scenario capital. A $100 buy and $100 sell create $200 of turnover. Count partially filled orders by their executed amount, and do not count unfilled cancellations.
Are the spread and slippage numbers measured?
No. The default is an explicitly assumed combined 5-basis-point execution-shortfall allowance per executed side. Change it for each platform using a consistent benchmark and available fill evidence. Do not count a spread twice if it is already included in your shortfall measure.
Why is an annual plan sometimes unranked?
The review did not independently verify a full current annual invoice for every plan. A rounded monthly-equivalent label is insufficient to assert an exact payable bill. Enter your confirmed annual quote to calculate the monthly allocation; leaving it blank does not mean zero cost.
Does a low cost mean the platform is safe or suitable?
No. Cost does not establish eligibility, custody protection, reliable execution, investment suitability or profitability. Review the exact platform, plan, account permissions and operational controls separately. The tool neither connects to an exchange nor authorizes trades.
